COVID-19 focused platforms and registries for sharing participant-level clinical-epidemiological, OMICs, and imaging data

14/07/2021

Calling COVID-19 researchers! If you want to share data in an ethical, fair and equitable way, here's a webinar for you.

In the research and public health response to COVID-19, there has been a rush to share data, marked by an explosion of population- and discipline-specific registries. Data sharing platforms, which generally predate the COVID-19 pandemic, have been expanded to include different types of COVID-19-related data.

In this webinar, we present a comprehensive, living overview of COVID-19-related platforms and registries for sharing participant-level clinical-epidemiological, OMICs, and imaging data and review the interoperability of data sharing efforts and how these initiatives map to best practice for ethical, equitable, and effective data sharing and application of the FAIR Principles for managing data resources.

We'll have speakers from the World Health Organization (WHO)University of Oxford, the COVID-19 Clinical Research Coalition, the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine, Ghana, the Academy of Sciences and Humanities, in Heidelberg, Germany and the Global Research Collaboration for Infectious Disease Preparedness.

EDCTP and The Global Health Network organised two webinars to present and elicit feedback on the EDCTP Knowledge Hub. The webinars were open to anyone interested in learning more about the tools and resources available at EDCTP Knowledge Hub.

The first of these two webinars, on data management and sharing, took place on 30 November 2020, and the second webinar, on tools and guidance for protocol development, was held on 25 February 2021. The recordings and reports can be found below.

Would you like to see a particular area of protocol development, managing and sharing data within the health research study cycle discussed in a future webinar? If so, then please don't hesitate to get in touch and get involved!
